kwokmeme is a project about culture, images, words, and the space between all three.

It started as a question: what happens when you treat a meme not as a joke, but as a unit of meaning? What if you took it seriously without making it boring?

The wok is the metaphor. Things go in raw. Heat gets applied. They come out different. That is basically what the internet does to ideas every single day, and we wanted to build something that lived inside that process instead of just describing it from the outside.

Two words that do not belong together, which is kind of the point. A wok is a physical object. A meme is not. One has weight and heat and smell. The other is weightless and replicates without cost. Put them side by side and you get a question: what does it mean to cook culture?

kwokmeme does not answer that question. It just keeps asking it, loudly, on the internet.

The ten statements on the front page are not rules. They are observations that felt true when we wrote them and still feel true now. We wrote them because we were tired of projects that gesture at culture without actually engaging with it.

The manifesto is public. You can disagree with it. You can play Meme or Manifesto? and see if you can even recognize it. That is the whole point.

Three games, no logins, no payment walls. You can just play them. Each one is built around the same idea: internet culture has a vocabulary, and that vocabulary is worth knowing.

The games are not educational. They are not trying to teach you anything. They are trying to find out what you already know, and whether you can be honest about it under pressure.
